Welterweight prospect Jay "Ghetts" Clarke (6-1-0) feels he is not getting the respect he deserves from the AFC management. This coming after Ghetts was the main event in AFC Russia 3. Ghetts feels going from main event to the prelims is disrespectful.
"Fuck the main event. What the fuck was I doing on the prelims. I headline Russia and light up a set and you put back on to prelims? Who the fuck is making the decisions around here?"
Clarke has been trending upward in his MMA career so far. With only one loss coming by way of decision to Hae Sup (1-1-0), he sits atop the WW division rankings. He's going to be a top seed in the European LW tournament.
AFC management claims they do not believe Clarke's comments were warranted.
"We do not choose to favor certain fighters. There is a reason for every decision. Clarke is not a main attraction in Ireland. He should focus on being a better main event. Our ratings were not at our best in Russia. If Clarke doesn't want to be on the prelims than he can sit at home and watch from his couch."
Clarke has been rumored to be in talks with fights against Cannon Mendoza (7-1-0). Other possible fights include Ryan O'Donnell (4-0-0) at LW or MW Jorges St. Perrier (5-1-0). He will be one of the favorites in the European WW Tournament.
