Fighter Ratings
Punching - A fighter's technique for punching, and their ability to throw hands. A fighter with a high punching, has excellent boxing skills. A higher score in this ability will unlock fancy punches (If desired.) for a striker.
Kicking - A fighter's technique for kicking, and their ability to find openings for kicks. A fighter with a high kicking, has the ability to throw powerful kicks. A higher score in this ability will unlock fancy kicks (If desired.) for a striker.
Strength - Strength governs many stats, as it is obvious that it does. A fighter's strength determines the power of their strikes, the power of their clinch, their strength in the ground. Basically, it is one of the most essential stats.
Clinch Grappling - A fighter's clinch grappling stat determines how well they handle grappling in the clinch. Position in the clinch and takedowns are both governed by the clinch grappling stat.
Clinch Striking - A fighter's clinch striking stat determines how well they handle themselves in the clinch. Boxing abilities in the clinch, as well as knees are all governed by the clinch striking stat.
Agility - A fighter's speed in offense. Without agility, a fighter is very likely to miss most of his strikes, and is unlikely to be able to even take down his opponent down.
Dodging - A fighter's ability to dodge strikes. A good dodge provides a fighter the ability to see blows coming, and move out of the way before they get hit with them.
Motivation/Heart - A fighter's motivation or heart is their ability to keep getting up after getting knocked down, or their drive to win the fight. A poor motivation or heart will produce terrible results from even a very skilled fighter if they're pushed too hard in the fight.
Takedowns - A fighter's ability to take the fight to the ground. A high takedown is paramount for a ground fighter, without it, the odds of them taking their opponent into their game are low.
Takedown Defense - A fighter's takedown defense is just as it says, the ability to sprawl and protect against the takedown. It is an important stat for strikers that have basically no ground game.
Ground Striking - A fighter's ability to throw punches while on the ground, a high score can result in many victories on the ground for a fighter. This also counts somewhat as a defensive stat for ground and pound.
Ground Positions - A fighter's ability to control the positions on the ground, good wrestling is important for standing up, changing position, or controlling the fight on the ground. It also affects aggressiveness in ground maneuvering to some extent.
Submissions - A fighter's ability to pull off submission holds, a high score in this will likely end many fights on the ground in a submission hold. A higher score in this ability will unlock fancy submissions (If desired.) for submission fighters.
Submission Defense - A fighter's ability to hold off from getting subbed. This won't completely protect you against someone's submission game, but it will allow a fighter some time to think about their next move, or even run out the clock if they can't escape from their opponent.
Conditioning - A fighter's conditioning is incredibly important for those fighters that find themselves unable to end an fight instantly, or fighters that like to wear their opponents out for the later rounds. Without conditioning a fighter will have very little stamina, and will likely become tired within the first round, leaving themselves in a bad position for the second and even third.
Toughness - A fighter's toughness governs how many hits they can really take, how many kicks they can take, how long they can hold out in submissions. This is the equivalent of 'Hit Points' in a video game, without this stat, your fighter is basically a glorified can.
Striking Control - A fighter's ability to cut off the ring, control the fight and make sure that everything goes their way. Control is important most of all for strikers that want to keep the fight standing, and make their opponent make mistakes.
Aggressiveness - A fighter's aggressiveness is basically what the word is in definition. How often a fighter attacks is affected by this stat, without aggressiveness a fighter even with massive amounts of skill, will rarely make the attempt to win the fight.
KO Resistance - A fighter's ability to take a punch. A fighter with a low KO resistance, even if they have a good amount of Health left in a fight can still be stopped cold with a powerful strike.
