[WW] Gunnar McCarthy (5-2-2) vs Austin Sell (2-3-0)People are cheering for him! You can hear Austin Sell chants all around the arena! Gunnar McCarthy looks very relaxed. He looks like a guy who expects to win this fight. Ferocious staredown by The Crackhead while the referee recites the rules. He looks extremely focused. This is the first time they meet inside the cage Gunslinger is the fighter that should win today if we pay attention to the betting odds. The referee of the bout is the referee. Chris Fisher: In our first bout of the evening, we've got Gunnar McCarthy taking on Austin Sell. Now this is an interesting fight between two guys who have had some success fighting in amateurs, but both guys have also struggled as well. I think Gunnar is rightfully the favorite, but who knows what could happen. It seems like most of Gunnar's fights are real close. It wouldn't shock me at all if Sell makes this a fight.
David Gray: Sell is a strong, tough guy. I think he'll definitely be in this fight. Only losing to Holmes, Walker, and Pholly....and beating Marco Garcia is impressive. He's shown the ability to go the distance with some great guys so we can all expect a good fight here.
Chris Fisher: And we have a special commentator for the fight tonight! None other than the Irish gangster himself, Ryan O'Donnell! Ryan, welcome to the commentary position. You're teammate is about to do battle in the cage. How do you feel about his chances and what are your thoughts on Austin Sell and what kind of threat he poses?
Ryan O'Donnell: Er, well I think that Gunnar has a good opportunity to showcase his grappling tonight. The obvious strong suit of his opponent which he will need to overcome is his wrestling prowess. But I think this will allow the fight to be a grappling match and I expect Gunnar to get the submission. I am just here to support my training partner really.
Chris Fisher: As Big Ron says, let's get it on!!!!!========================================= Round 1 ========================================= The fight gets underway. **0:11 Austin Sell and Gunslinger engage in a wild exchange of punches! Austin Sell is getting the best of the exchange as he lands a few blows. Chris Fisher: Nice punches by Sell, nothing really clean though. **0:25 A punch from Austin Sell gets blocked by Gunslinger. **0:32 The Crackhead grabs his opponent by the waist and tries to take the fight to the ground Gunslinger struggles... Austin Sell is unable to take him down Poorly executed technique. Gunnar McCarthy looks to counter! Gunslinger wants to close the range and tries to grapple... Nice move. He shoves himself over his opponent and secure a single collar tie. **0:45 The fighters are clinching. Gunslinger tries to take Austin Sell to the ground from the clinch... Nicely done! The Crackhead is with is back on the ground now. Chris Fisher: Beautiful reversal! The Gunslinger showing off his wrestling pedigree himself as he avoids the takedown and counters with his own!
David Gray: Now we get to see them grapple. Wrestler vs submission! Wrestlers don't like being on their back.
**0:59 Gunnar McCarthy is in open guard over The Crackhead The Crackhead tries to close his guard around Gunslinger He is not able to do it **1:12 Gunnar McCarthy is in open guard over The Crackhead The Crackhead tries to close his guard around Gunslinger He is not able to do it **1:19 Gunnar McCarthy is in open guard over The Crackhead Gunslinger moves on the ground.. He gets half guard. **1:28 Gunnar McCarthy is in half guard over The Crackhead Gunslinger tries to get a side mount... He frees his leg and is now controlling The Crackhead from the side mount! Chris Fisher: And he's passed to side mount! Beautiful!
Ryan O'Donnell: Gunnar's transitions on the ground are just so smooth. His grappling skills are second to none. Its just hard when da judges do not understand this aspect of the fight.
Chris Fisher: I don't know if I'd go that far. And I think one of the guys in our main event would have a big problem with that statement. But he's definitely got some solid ground skills.**1:39 Gunnar McCarthy is in side mount over Austin Sell The Crackhead is moving on the ground... Gunslinger tries to counter The Crackhead's moves on the ground. The Crackhead clumsily fails here and it's time for Gunnar McCarthy to fight back! Gunnar McCarthy looks to mount Austin Sell... Gunnar McCarthy slides his knee across and gets to mount. Ryan O'Donnell: See, t'is is da difference between Gunnar and those other fighters you are referring too. They might be able to go out there and take a guy down and get a quick submission but they cannot flow and transition like Gunnar can. In a BJJ match they would be in a lot of trouble facing him.
Chris Fisher: See I disagree. I think he's solid but far from the best we've seen in AFC as far as grappling is concerned. Not here to hate on the guy.... But the Crackhead is in trouble now!! Oh man I think he regrets doing all that crack....will Gunnar be able to finish? Plenty of time to work here. He should take his time. **1:53 Gunnar McCarthy is in full mount over Austin Sell Gunslinger suddenly holds Austin Sell's arm and tries an armbar! The Crackhead almost dind't see what was happening before tap! Winner is Gunnar McCarthy by Submission (Armbar) at 2:07 Round 1 Chris Fisher: And just like that it's over!!! McCarthy with the armbar!!!!
Ryan O'Donnell: And here you get to see the ever evolving game of Gunnar. Beautiful transitions and nice arm bar against a very tough opponent.
Chris Fisher: What a great submission artist. I think this guys got a bright future.
David Gray: He absolutely does. I think there is holes in his game but if he keeps training hard with Team Notorious...is that what your guys' official name by the way?
Ryan O'Donnell: er, team name is pretty much still pending. I think Team Notorious is fitting though.
Chris Fisher: I think it's fitting as well. Some monsters over at that fight team, and it seems you're the best one. Well it was great having you O'Donnell, good luck in your Europe FW tournament. I think you'll go far, if not win it all.
Ryan O'Donnell: T'anks for 'aving me guys.Statistics: Gunnar McCarthy Punches 0/2 (0%) Kicks 0/0 (0%) Clinch strikes 0/0 (0%) Takedowns 1/1 (100%) GnP strikes 0/0 (0%) Submissions 1/1 (100%) Clinch Attempts 0/0 (0%) Damage caused 52,02 Clinch Damage 9,55 Ground Damage 42,47 Time on the ground 68 s Statistics: Austin Sell Punches 3/5 (60%) Kicks 0/0 (0%) Clinch strikes 0/1 (0%) Takedowns 0/1 (0%) GnP strikes 0/0 (0%) Submissions 0/0 (0%) Clinch Attempts 0/0 (0%) Damage caused 44,72 Clinch Damage 0 Ground Damage 0 Time on the ground 68 s Gunnar McCarthy wins 16,00 ranking points after the fight. Austin Sell loses -10,00 ranking points after the fight. What a dull and boring fighter Gunslinger was today. He needs to improve his performance if he wants the fans to cheer his name. (23 points) Austin Sell was making the people snore here. Amateur FC management should consider cutting him. (14 points) These guys need to get a job other than MMA fighters... maybe rodeo clowns would be a better choice for them.

[MW] Vartan Zakaryan (8-0-0) vs Robbie Harrison (4-8-1)

This is the first time they meet inside the cage Zakaryan is the fighter that should win today if we pay attention to the betting odds. Vartan Zakaryan comes with a 8 fight winning streak. The referee of the bout is the referee.
Chris Fisher: In our second bout of the evening, it's the very technical striker Vartan Zakaryan taking on the very skilled, former collegiate wrestler Robbie Harrison. Known for more of a greco roman style of wrestling, Robbie is in great shape and has a lot of natural tools. He has a lot of technique to work on, but he's shown the ability to win in the cage.
David Gray: Without a doubt, but I think Vartan is going to be too much for him. Vartan is a complete martial artist. I can't decide if he's better striking or on the ground. It wouldn't surprise me to if he got a submission or a TKO, as he has 3 of both. One of the few really well rounded fighters in the sport today. I can't wait for this one!

Chris Fisher:
David Gray:
[FW] Rico Melo III (6-0-0) vs Eric Young (3-4-1)
Rico Melo III is the fan favorite here at Mandalay Bay Events Center (Las Vegas, NV). Rico Melo III is calm in his corner. He looks like he's ready for war. Eric Young looks at the ground while he does his calming exercises. He knows he can not fail this night. This is the first time they meet inside the cage Melo III is the fighter that should win today if we pay attention to the betting odds. Rico Melo III comes with a 6 fight winning streak. The referee of the bout is the referee.
Chris Fisher: Next up we have a special fight for you. This man really wanted to main event tonight. And he wanted a very tough, undefeated opponent. He didn't get the exact guy he wanted, but he did get a tough opponent. It's none other than Rico Melo III taking on Eric Young in what should be an amazing fight.
David Gray: Melo has really solid grappling skills. One of the best in the FW division. It's going to be interesting to see just how great he is. So far, nobody has been able to really get the better of him. He did have a harder fight most recently against Matheus Neiva, who took the fight to the judges decision.
Chris Fisher: Melo is really fun to watch. It seems like he's pretty deadly with submissions towards the end of rounds, which I always like. It shows me killer instinct to finish before the round expires and your opponent has a chance to catch his breath and recover.
David Gray: What do we know about his opponent, Eric Young?
Chris Fisher: Well he's a very tough guy. Solid chin. Only been TKO'd by Demarcus Jackson. Took Mark Meloncholy to a draw. Took O'donnell to a decision. So I think the guy is definitely game. He's more of a boxer but is pretty well rounded.
